Sweet 18 Nationwide Chapters

By Michelle Moccia

“There are people who make things happen, there are people who watch things happen, and there are people who wonder what happened. To be successful, you need to be a person who makes things happen.” -Jim Lovell, Apollo 13 Astronaut

A map of GAPNA’s 18 chapters across the United States.

The revised chapter map shows our “Sweet 18” chapters nationwide. Our chapter leaders are looking forward to making things happen in 2023. We keep busy by planning quarterly business meetings and local conferences, engaging current members and recruiting new members, supporting each other’s initiatives, and supporting national GAPNA projects and events, including the upcoming pharmacology conference in Hawaii!

This year, the Chapter Leadership Committee invites other GAPNA committees and SIGs to join our meetings to share their plans for 2023. We would love to see our chapters gain more opportunities to get involved with GAPNA!

Our task force is finalizing the Chapter Event Planning Toolkit, including Dr. Aparna Gupta, DNP, FACHE, CPHQ, CRNP (National Director-at-Large, Liberty Chapter Past President), Dr. George Byron Peraza-Smith, DNP, ARNP-BC, FAANP, GS-C (GNCC Commissioner, Florida Gulf Coast Chapter Acting President), and myself, Dr. J. Michelle Moccia, DNP, ANP-BC, GS-C (Chapter Leadership Committee Chair, Great Lakes Chapter Past President). The National Office is also lending a hand through our Member Engagement Coordinator, Meghan Cash, who is helping to compile and format the toolkit. Thank you to all the chapters that submitted their samples for inclusion!

From our GAPNA family to you and your family, best wishes for a happy and healthy 2023!
