Historical Committee Wins Innovative Project Award
The Historical Committee was the first recipient of the new Innovative Project Award at the GAPNA Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida.
The committee won the award for its work on a Year-In-Review. The committee started Year-In-Review reports in October 2020 after brainstorming with Michael Brennan, Executive Director of Anthony J. Jannetti.
These are annual reports, so GAPNA captures its history more succinctly, accurately, and concurrently – opposed to a 5-year remembrance done before a Year-In-Review. Last year in preparation for GAPNA’s 40th anniversary, the committee did Year-In-Reviews from 2015 to the current years. GAPNA’s website has Year-In-Review reports for member access.
These reports make it easier for the committee to update the GAPNA monograph – historical panels displayed every 5 years – and write articles about GAPNA.
You can find the information in these reports if you want to know who was on the Board of Directors, who won awards, or what GAPNA accomplished each year. The years follow a Board of Director’s term, from immediately after the fall conference to the following fall conference, as opposed to a fiscal year.
We welcome your questions or comments if you have feedback regarding these reports. We are always looking for new members.
The committee meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 8:00 p.m. EST via Zoom. Please join us!
