Utilizing the GAPNA Exchange: A Call to Action for Chapters, Committees, and SIGs
By Cindy Gerstenlauer
The Historical Committee encourages all Chapters, Committees, and SIGS to take advantage of the GAPNA Exchange to announce meetings, share information, get answers to questions, and store records for later retrieval as necessary. The Exchange has an unlimited capacity to upload your agendas, minutes, conference brochures, and other records. The GAPNA Exchange would also be an appropriate place to upload and store photos for Chapters, Committees, and SIGs. Just be sure you have permission of those pictured and supply the names, occasion, and location as appropriate. These documents and pictures would be accessible to the group and the National Office.
The Historical Committee relies on Annual Reports submitted by GAPNA’s Chapters, Committees, and SIGS to extend the Online GAPNA Historical Monograph and the GAPNA Historical Panels displayed at the annual conference every five years. Members of the Historical Committee hope to be assigned as a liaison to all of these GAPNA entities in the future. This would enable the committee to review uploaded records and compile reports if an annual report is not submitted, ensuring that your important work is not lost. This will also help prevent lost records in case of officer changes or moves. You will be glad your records are on file for future reference. This will also facilitate the archiving of your records every decade.
