The Georgia Chapter was elated to resume its in-person annual education conference this year, titled “Renewed Purpose: Innovative Care of the Geriatric Patient.” The event was held at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Marietta, GA, and featured all-day programming. The keynote message was an inspirational, engaging conversation from Jacquie Burnham-Hurt, a local dementia educator and administrator of a large senior living facility. Other topics discussed featured cardiology updates, podiatry, wound care through an infectious disease lens, and a closing session from GAPNA’s Dr. Elizabeth Galik.
The Chapter is also proud to continue supporting future advanced practitioners by awarding the annual $1000 Penny Maynard Memorial Scholarship to Amanda Mifflin, a local nurse practitioner student with a strong nursing home and wound care background. Georgia Chapter is very excited to start seeing its members and friends in person once again!
