Nursing Home Improvements
The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) released The National Imperative to Improve Nursing Home Qualit: Honoring Our Commitment to Residents, Families, and Staff report examined how the United States delivers, finances, regulates, and measures the quality of nursing home care. The report also identified seven recommendations as a framework to improving the quality of care in nursing homes.
In response to the report, The John A. Hartford Foundation, a nonprofit, nonpartisan philanthropy focused on improving care for older adults, granted $1 million to aging services association LeadingAge for nursing home care improvement.
The Moving Forward: Nursing Home Quality Coalition was created as a result of the donation and will work toward advancing the recommendations from the NASEM report.
