GAPNA Chat GAPNA kicked off the second series of its official podcast, GAPNA Chat, in August. GAPNA Chat premiered in January 2022 and provides interviews and discussions with GAPNA leaders and members of the gerontological healthcare community. The podcast focuses on advocacy, policy, education, professional development, research, and clinical care for older adult.

Meet the GAPNA Chat Host
Dr. Cassandra Vonnes, DNP, GNP-BC, APRN, AOCNP, CPHQ, FAHA, is the first official host of GAPNA Chat. Dr. Vonnes is the Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) Coordinator, Geriatric Oncology, Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, FL, and is a member of the GAPNA Communications Team.

In addition to her inspiration to become a gerontological nurse, Mrs. Baxter discusses the origin and definition of a trauma-informed approach to care; the adoption of trauma-informed practices to potentially improve patient engagement, treatment adherence, and health outcome; and the integration of trauma-informed care into the health care team.
