Organizational Readiness to Change as a Leverage Point for Improving Safety: A National Nursing Home Survey
A stronger safety climate in nursing homes may reduce avoidable adverse events. Yet efforts to strengthen safety may fail if nursing homes are not ready to change.
A new study of frontline staff and managers from 56 Veterans Health Administration community living centers found organizational readiness to change predicted safety climate. The authors suggest nursing home leadership explore readiness for change to help nursing homes improve their safety climate.
